Matrine is a type of botanical fungicide. It is extracted from the roots, stems, leaves and fruits of Sophora flavescens. The drug also has other names called matrine and aphids. The drug is low-toxic, low-residue, environmentally friendly, and can be used on tea, tobacco and other plants.
Matrine can paralyze the central nervous system of pests, coagulate the protein of the pests, block the stomata of the pests, and suffocate the pests to death. Matrine has contact and stomach poisoning effects and can kill a variety of pests.
Matrine is ideal for controlling sucking pests such as aphids, and has good control effects on cabbage caterpillars, diamondback moths, tea caterpillars, green leafhoppers, whiteflies, etc. In addition, the drug also has good control effects on some diseases, such as anthracnose, blight, and downy mildew.
Since matrine is a plant-derived insecticide, its insecticidal effect is relatively slow. Generally, good effects can only be seen 3-5 days after application. In order to accelerate the rapid and lasting effect of the drug, It can be combined with pyrethroid pesticides to have better control effect on caterpillars and aphids.
Pest Control:
1. Moth pests: The control of inchworms, poisonous moths, boat moths, white moths, and pine caterpillars is generally during the 2-3rd instar larvae stage, which is also the critical period for the damage of these pests.
2. Control of caterpillars. Control is generally carried out when the worms are 2-3 years old, usually about a week after the adults lay eggs.
3. For anthrax and epidemic diseases, matrine should be sprayed in the early stages of the disease.
Common matrine dosage forms:
0.3 matrine emulsifiable concentrate, 2% matrine aqueous agent, 1.3% matrine aqueous agent, 1% matrine aqueous agent, 0.5% matrine aqueous agent, 0.3% matrine aqueous agent, 2% soluble agent, 1.5% soluble agent, 1% soluble agent, 0.3% soluble agent.
Precautions:
1. It is strictly forbidden to mix with alkaline pesticides, avoid strong light exposure, and apply pesticides away from fish, shrimp, and silkworms.
2. Matrine has poor sensitivity to 4-5 instar larvae and is not very effective. Early use of the drug should be noted to prevent small insects.
