The most used sulfonylurea herbicide-bensulfuron-methyl

Bensulfuron-methyl belongs to the sulfonylurea class of broad-spectrum, high-efficiency, low-toxic herbicides for paddy fields. It has ultra-high-efficiency activity. At the time of initial registration, the dosage of 1.3-2.5g per 666.7m2 can control various annual and perennial broad-leaved weeds and sedges in rice fields, and it also has inhibitory effects on barnyard grass.

1. Chemical properties

The pure product is a white odorless solid, stable in slightly alkaline (pH=8) aqueous solution, and decomposes slowly in acidic solution. The half-life is 11d at pH 5 and 143d at pH 7. The original drug is slightly light yellow.

2. Mechanism of action

Bensulfuron-methyl is a selective systemic herbicide. The active ingredients can diffuse rapidly in water, be absorbed by the roots and leaves of weeds and transfer to all parts of weeds, hinder the biosynthesis of amino acids, and prevent cell division and growth. The growth function of sensitive weeds is hindered, and the premature yellowing of young tissues inhibits the growth of leaves, hinders the growth of roots and causes necrosis. The active ingredients enter the rice body and quickly metabolize into harmless inert chemicals, which are safe to rice. The method of use is flexible, and methods such as poisonous soil, poisonous sand, spray, and pouring can be used. It has little mobility in the soil, and the influence of temperature and soil quality on its weeding effect is small.

3. Action target

Bensulfuron-methyl is an epoch-making paddy herbicide:

333      444

Wide adaptability,

It is suitable for paddy fields under different climates, different geographical environments and different cultivation systems.

Low dosage,

The amount of application per hectare is reduced from the kilogram level of traditional herbicides to the unit of grams.

Herbicidal spectrum width,

It has excellent control effect on annual and perennial broadgrass and sedge, especially on knotweed and cattle felt, and has a strong growth inhibitory effect on barnyardgrass and other grasses at high doses.

Long application period,

Can be applied before and after seedlings

High security,

Not only is it safe for the current crop of rice, it has no adverse effect on the growth of rice, no soil residue, and it is also very safe for subsequent crops.

Strong mixability

Bensulfuron-methyl can be mixed with a variety of herbicides and is also used in wheat fields.
